BJP secures its return to power in the North East

BJP-IPFT alliance won 31 out of the 60 seats in Tripura, securing its winning streak in the northeastern state for the second time. In Meghalaya, BJP has sought alliance with NPP supremo Conrad Sangma, who will form the next government. Nagaland's territory also went to BJP-NDPP alliance. Neiphui Rio, NDPP leader, will assume the office as the CM for the fifth time in a row. This set of elections results have confirmed BJP's dominance in 7 out of 8 northeastern states.
